ARIZONA APCO/NENA General Meeting WIGWAM Resort December 18, 2009

Introductions of Attendees
Dick Granado from CPRA discussed the APCO Western Regional structure as it relates to the National structure of APCO. Mr. Granado also discussed the process to go through APCO national to volunteer.
Barbara Jaeger discussed activities she has been involved with through her National NENA office. Barbara sat on a panel in San Diego reference State Legislators and 911 issues. Barbara will attend the TDC/ODC conference in January as well as 911 Goes to Washington in March. Barbara also discussed the recent legislative activities in the State of Arizona and the new Senate Bill 1001 introduced to strip more money from the 911 State Fund. Barbara outlined the negative effects this legislative action would have on the ability of the 911 office to provide upgrades, phase II deployments and next generation preparations. There was significant discussion among attendees regarding actions individuals as well as the organization should take to oppose this piece of legislation.
Adam Iten provided a State 9-1-1 Office update. Adam outlined the projects across the state to include enhanced 911, wireless, enterprise networks and next generation testing. There are no new mapping projects for the time being. E9-11 Southern Gila county – first simulation complete, they are correcting errors. Greenlee County – Old to new addresses submitted, Telcos are updating their records.
Wireless Phase II Colorado city – 2 of 3 complete, Southern Central Communications Southern Yavapai 3 of 6 complete Commnet, Sprint, T-Mobile Cochise County 0 of 4 complete AT&T, Sprint, T-mobile, Verizon Mohave County, Yuma County, Gila County, Greenlee County and Commnet Wireless are all slated for future projects.
Enterprise/MPLS Network Yavapai County is complete Cochise County 12/17 kickoff date Mohave County and Yuma County are future projects
MG9-1-1 Northern Gila County – CPE currently being installed, testing is to begin January 2010.
Sheila Blevins, Tonia Rogers and Julie Heimkes provided an update regarding the preparations for the bid presentation at the Western Regional meeting in Denver in January. An overview of the presentation was provided as well as examples of the handouts the committee has acquired for the conference. Discussion and the exchange of ideas occurred with Dick Granado and the committee.
Tonia Rogers provided an update on the Law Enforcement Committee and their recent activities.
Vicki Scott provided an update on the TERT committee activities. Training will occur on January 22nd for Team Leaders. The training is free to attendees and is sponsored by the Arizona Chapter.
Jim Long provided an update of the recent activities of the Fire Committee. (Reminder to all that these committees have information and minutes on the website.)
Julie Heimkes provided a Commercial Member Directory and reminded commercial members to contact her if they would like to be included in the directory.

Executive Board Officers Present: Mark Schroeder Sheila Blevins Karen Allen Scott Tillman Liz Hunt A quorum was present to conduct elections. Ballots were provided to those who had not voted by mail. Ballots were counted by Liz Hunt and Scott Tillman. Tonia Rogers was duly elected to the vacant office of 2nd Vice President. A swearing in of the new Board Members was conducted.
A motion was made to destroy the ballots, the motion carried.
Biddle Consulting provided a presentation of their Critical product and sponsored the luncheon.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting, the motion carried and the meeting was adjourned.
