It is with heavy hearts that we announce Sam’s intention to retire as our Frequency Coordinator. He will be sorely missed, but we hope that his participation in APCO will continue for a long time.
He is looking for a replacement that APCO AFC in Florida will approve. He has one prospect, but that person has not made up his mind yet.
Interoperability is of paramount concern. Will probably roll all the committees into one: the UHF/VHF, 700 MHz and 800 MHz. The committees will have to make some kind of an operational committee. We will keep you posted on process. We have the 700 MHz, PSCC scheduled for the last week in August.
While we were not as profitable as we had hope, we still made money, and everyone had a great time. Many thanks to all the committee members and the volunteers, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Below is the reviewed financial statement together with the accountants review report.
For the period June 7, 2000 to April 30, 2002.
Accountant’s Review Report
To the Board of Directors
Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International, Inc. – Arizona Chapter
I have reviewed the accompanying statement of cash receipts and disbursements of the 2002 Western Regional Conference and Exposition of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International, Inc. – Arizona Chapter for the period of June 7, 2000 to April 30, 2002, in accordance with Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. All information included in this financial statement is the representation of the Chairman and Committees of the 2002 Western Regional Conference and Exposition of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International, Inc. – Arizona Chapter. The financial statement has been prepared on the cash basis of accounting, which is a comprehensive basis of accounting other than generally accepted accounting principals.
A review consists primarily of inquires of Organization personnel and analytical procedures applied to financial data. It is substantially less in scope than an audit in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards, the objective of which is the expression of an opinion regarding the financial statement taken as a whole. Accordingly, I do not express such an opinion.
Based on my review, I am not aware of any material modifications that should be made to the accompanying financial statement in order for it to be in conformity with the cash basis of accounting, as described in Note 2.

Under that basis, the only asset recognized is cash, and no liabilities are recognized.
