The General Meeting for Arizona APCO/NENA was held on November 16, 2001 at the Phoenix Fire Academy. Arizona APCO President Liz Hunt called the meeting to order at 1010.

• From Liz Hunt: CPA Paul Peterson did the audit and the audit revealed our books are in order. The way we handle our bookkeeping is very good, we are meticulous and that is a good thing when it comes to bookkeeping. We will continue to do outside audits, especially after the Western Regional Conference.

• From Joe Noce on the Executive Council: Canada has elected to go as an affiliate instead of a Chapter (the same as BABCO). It looks like it will be approved by the Executive Council.

• From Sam Bass, Frequency Advisor:

Sam reported a lot of computer problems during this period. The computer went to APCO AFC in Florida four times.

The new AFC system has been in use since October 10, 2001. There are a lot of "bugs" in the system, especially printing. The Frequency Search program is not as useful as the "old" one.

Look on the APCO-NENA Web Site for the latest FCC policies and changes.

The City of Willcox Police license WNFD683 has expired. Sam called Patricia and she informed Sam the renewal that was sent to the FCC was denied and the application dismissed. Willcox will file a new application.

• Susan MacFarlane, Western Regional Conference Chair: We are working fast and furious. We are still in need of volunteers, if anyone in the membership is interested or anyone at your agency, please go to the web page and sign up.

Please take posters advertising the Western Regional Conference and put them out in your agencies. We have had the first registration (a person from Arizona).

• Liz Hunt—we are looking for instructors. Technical, operations, management. We get a lot of information from each other and it would benefit the Conference if you would like to do a presentation on your area of expertise. Previous experience is not required.

• Newsletter—will only be posted on the web page. You will only receive e-mail if you do have not access to the web site.

• Project 40—Julie Righter is the Chair, Karen Allen and Joe Noce are on the committee. Ramsey at Scottsdale made request for a Staffing and Retention committee—any volunteers for the Arizona sub committee please contact Joe Noce.

• Les Jones—ARRC, new coordinates for 800 Mhz allocation was approved by the FCC Oct. 15. This means Phx and Mesa’s project will go forward, and Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office will have a lot or reprogramming to do. This means that what you thought were your allocations for 800 spectrum would probably change.

ARRC meeting will be held prior to the general business meeting.
